An ambulance driver is dead and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Sept. 22.

Around 7:20 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol Fremont Post troopers were called to the intersection of County Road 197 and State Route 19 for a crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 45-year-old Sandra L. Cline was driving a 2011 Ford Ambulance southbound on SR 19 when 48-year-old William A. Bluethmann, driving his 2013 Dodge Journey westbound on County Road 197, ran a stop sign and crashed into the ambulance, causing it to turn over.

The crash left Cline, of Holland, Ohio, with life-threatening injuries. She was taken by medical helicopter to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo. She was pronounced dead on Sept. 23 at 12:28 a.m.

Bluethmann, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, was also injured and taken by Sandusky County EMS to Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Chris Nelson, 42, of Wauseon, Ohio, and Toni Johnson, 45, of Tiffin, were both passengers in the ambulance at the time of the crash. Nelson was taken by Sandusky County EMS to St. Vincent's Hospital for his injuries and Johnson was taken by North Central EMS to Fremont Memorial Hospital for her injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the ambulance and Dodge Journey were both severely damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Police said they don't think alcohol was involved. The crash is under investigation.
