South Euclid residents living at Princeton Park Apartments are fed up with barking dogs they says are keeping them up at all hours of the night.

Complaining residents said they have attended multiple city council meetings hoping city hall will ask the owner of DogTropolis on S. Green Road to do more in the way of sound proofing the facility.

Johnnie Pinkney told newsnet5.com she and her 93 year-old mother can't sleep at night, and she believes the owner could do more to control all the barking dogs.

"Who can’t get any sleep with those dogs barking all day long," said Pinkney.  "She needs to sound proof. I feel like you can see over there is a sunscreen to keep the dogs feet from getting hot on the cement."

South Euclid city leaders contacted newsnet5.com and said so far the dog daycare hasn't violated any laws, and remains with the noise limits.

Still, South Euclid Councilwoman Ruth Gray believes a solution lies with all parties involved.  She said the apartment’s owners, residents and the owner of the dog daycare need to sit down and hammer out an agreement everyone can live with.

"I see this as a good neighbor issue," said Gray.  "Let's get the attorney's out of the way.  Let's bring residents together with the property owner and come to a resolution."

The attorney for DogTropolis contacted newsnet5.com and said the owner has already tried to work with the neighborhood, and has added $5,000 in sound proofing to the facility.

The attorney said the dog daycare is in compliance with all zoning laws, and so far has not received any citations from the police or the South Euclid building department.

Meanwhile ownership at Princeton Park Apartments told newsnet5.com it would be willing to help pay for additional sound proofing if the dog daycare owner would be willing to negotiate.
