BRITTAS BAY, Ireland - A sheep escaped from a farmer and crawled into a cave in Ireland. The cave was right by the water, and the tide was rising, so the sheep was in danger of drowning.
The farmer tried to climb down some rocks to save the sheep, but it was too dangerous. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, also known as RNLI, was called in to rescue the animal. The sheep had other ideas as it ran away from the rescue team.
They were finally able to get a rope around the sheep and pull it into their lifeboat. The rescue team then reunited the frightened but uninjured sheep with the farmer.
RNLI is an all volunteer 24-hour search and rescue service in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
