Report: Geauga, Medina in top 10 list of Ohio's healthiest counties

CLEVELAND - Two northeast Ohio counties are among the healthiest places to live in the state, according to a new study.

The report, released Wednesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, ranked Geauga County as the healthiest place in Ohio. Medina County ranked fourth among Ohio's 88 counties.

The County Health Rankings report evaluates more than two dozen factors that researchers believe influence a person's health. That includes things like obesity and smoking, access to health care, income and education levels.

Other local county rankings included:

- Lake: 17th

- Lorain: 29th

- Stark: 39th

- Summit: 41st

- Cuyahoga: 65th

Scioto County, in southwest Ohio, ranked as the least healthiest.
