President Obama cancels Labor Day campaign trip to Cleveland, going to Louisiana instead

CLEVELAND - President Barack Obama has canceled his campaign trip to Cleveland for Labor Day, and instead will tour areas affected by Hurricane Isaac.

The Obama for America campaign announced the change in plans Friday afternoon. President Obama will now check out the ongoing response and recovery efforts in Louisiana.

The president was scheduled to speak at Luke Easter Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Monday afternoon. He called this part of his campaign the "Road to Charlotte," as the convention will begin Sept. 4 in North Carolina.

Obama was also expected to speak at the Congressional District Community Caucus Labor Day Festival with Rep. Marcia Fudge.

Toledo was the president's Sunday stop, but it's not clear yet if that event is still scheduled to happen.
