President Barack Obama will be in Columbus as a special guest for the Ohio Democratic Party's State Dinner in October.
His appearance in the the Buckeye state on Thursday, Oct. 13, will coincide with the launch of early voting the previous day.

“We’re deeply honored that Barack Obama is taking the time to fire up Ohio Democrats as we enter the final stretch of the 2016 campaign,” Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper said.
Ohio was instrumental to helping Obama win the White House twice, Peppe said. He credited the scores of volunteers who are helping register voters and garner support for Ohio's Democratic candidates and the Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
"As Ohio goes, so goes the nation, and we are ready to help elect Hillary Clinton as our first woman president, send Ted Strickland to the Senate and boost Democrats up and down the ballot,” he said.
The State Dinner is the largest fundraising event for the Ohio Democratic party and usually draws 1,000 attendees, according to the party. The event is open to grassroots volunteers and tickets can be purchased here.
