CLEVELAND - With the retirement of Congressman Steven LaTourette, the 14th Congressional district will have a new representative for the first time in more than a decade.
David Joyce wants that person to be him. Joyce is a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, and the current Geauga County prosecutor. Joyce is also married, and has three children.
Joyce, a republican, has lived in the 14th district for more than 20 years. The newly redrawn 14th district includes the eastern most part of Cuyahoga County, all of Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties, as well as parts of Summit, Portage and Trumbull Counties.
We asked Joyce why he was running for Congress, what makes him a better candidate than his opponent, whether it is a challenge to represent a district with a well mix of democrats and republicans, pressing issues with the district, and as a freshman Congressman, who he would seek advice from within the Northeast Ohio Congresspersons.
