Marcy Kaptur running for re-election in Ohio's 9th Congressional District

Congresswoman Kaptur seeking re-election

CLEVELAND - She's been an icon on Capitol Hill for almost 30 years.  Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur is seeking re-election to Congress in Ohio's 9th District.  It would be her 16th term in the U.S. House.

Because of redistricting, Kaptur and longtime Cleveland Congressman Dennis Kucinich, faced-off in Ohio's primary elections in March.  Kaptur, the incumbent Democrat, emerged the winner, and faces Republican challenger, Samuel Wurzelbacher, also known as "Joe The Plumber".

The newly redrawn District 9 runs along the shoreline of Lake Erie, from Toledo to Cleveland.  Parts of five counties make up the 9th district: Lucas, Ottawa, Erie, Lorain and Cuyahoga.

We asked Congresswoman Kaptur why she was seeking re-election, why she was a better candidate than her opponent, how she would work to keep all jobs strong in Ohio, and if the Congress could work with the President.
