CLEVELAND - The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections gets prepared for the weekend voting rush, as voters cast their ballots in the final days leading up to the 2012 General Election.
Mike West, media and voter education specialist, said the BOE is expecting a large turnout Saturday and Sunday.
On Tuesday, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted released the latest absentee voting data for Ohio, based on an informal survey from the state's 88 boards of elections offices. It showed more than 1.2 million Ohioans had cast their ballots as of Oct. 26.
Four years ago, the board of elections had their largest voter turnout ever the weekend before the 2008 presidential election.
They have urged registered voters to exercise their right to vote this weekend by taking advantage of early voting, as lines are sure to be long for the official Nov. 6 election day.
Boards of elections are open for voting during the following hours:
Friday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 4 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
