BOSTON - Bomb squad officials in Boston have destroyed two suspicious backpacks that were left unattended near the Boston Marathon finish line Tuesday evening.
Police spokesman Dave Estrada said the backpacks were discovered around 7 p.m., a year after two bombs in backpacks exploded at the end of the marathon and killed three people
The Boston Police Department evacuated Boylston Street after the discovery of the bags, according to the department's Twitter page.

Around 7:45 p.m. the Boston bomb squad arrived on scene to investigate the unattended bags. The bags were destroyed by officials on scene.
Police say, via, Twitter, a male suspect is now in custody in connection to the unattended bags.
Boston PD is asking community members to avoid the area until further notice.
