Many older Americans are routinely getting screened for cancer.
That's according to a study in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
Researchers found more than half of women ages 75-to-79 were being screened for breast cancer or had recent Pap smears.
Men in that age group are getting screened for for prostate cancer.
Previous studies recommend against routine screening for those 75 and older.
Doctors said there's no proof the tests have any preventive benefits.
