Papa John's racist voicemail: Chairman and CEO John Schnatter apologizes on Facebook

CLEVELAND - A racist rant by a Papa John's employee has led to a public apology.

The company's Chairman and CEO John Schnatter fired a delivery man who accidentally "butt dialed" a Florida customer and left a voicemail filled with racial slurs, ABC News reports .

They report that the message includes the employee using the N-word and complaining about a tip, as another co-worker laughs.

In the apology posted to Facebook , Schattner writes:

" Friends, I am extremely concerned to learn about the reprehensible language used by two former employees in one of our restaurants. Their thinking and actions defy both my personal and the company's values, and everything for which this company stands. The employees responsible for this absolutely unacceptable behavior were immediately terminated. and everything for which this company stands. The employees responsible for this absolutely unacceptable behavior were immediately terminated."

The response to the apology has been positive, with users praising the CEO's sense of responsibility.
