Popular food, wine and beer festival Taste of Hudson has reportedly been canceled this year, organizers announced of the two-day event, which usually takes place over Labor Day weekend.

Bob Liskiewicz, President of the Board of Directors explains, “The reason is twofold, partially due to planned construction renovations and expansion occurring in Downtown Hudson this year. In addition, it provides an opportunity after a very positive 11 year run to review the festival's objectives for the future and determine the best way forward as a key community event.”

Annually, Taste of Hudson pulls in more than 30,000 people, while it has collected donations totaling more than $300,000 which it has distributed to local charities.

Effective Feb. 15, Andy Malitz – who serves as executive director for the event – will retire from the position to pursue other responsibilities.

"I am so honored to have been a big part of what has become Hudson's biggest event and one that has such a positive impact on the community for our residents,' Malitz said. "I have enjoyed working with all of the Taste of Hudson sponsors, volunteers, vendors, the city and everyone who has been involved in the festival since our start in 2005."
