The Summit County Sheriff's Department is asking for your help in tracking down a burglar who has been breaking into higher priced homes in Green and Coventry Township since the beginning of October.

Investigators told News5.com the suspect, caught on surveillance video is being connected to at least two burglaries and perhaps several others.

Police said the suspect knocks on the front door to determine if anyone is home, and when no one answers,  seconds later he kicks down the front door.

The suspect often hits homes with security systems and spends little time in the home, targeting small electronics and jewelry found in bedrooms.

The Summit County Sheriff's Department explained the number of afternoon and early evening burglaries are on the rise because crooks are trying to target homes while residents are at work.

If you have any information about the suspect seen in the surveillance video you're being asked to contact the Summit County Detective Bureau 330-643-2131, or Summit County Crime Stoppers 330-434-2677.
