A suspect was arrested by police in connection to the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in Orrville overnight.

On Thursday, Orrville police officers went to the 900 block of North Ella Street for a report of a person shot.

According to police, officers found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest when they arrived. The victim was taken to Aultman Orrville Hospital by EMS where he later died from his injuries.

Police said 67-year-old Paul R. Claren, of Orrville, was found at the scene and was identified as the person responsible for the shooting. Claren was arrested and taken to Orrville Police Department for questioning.

Police said the shooting happened after a neighbor dispute. Claren and the victim lived in the same apartment complex.

Claren was later taken to Wayne County Jail to be booked for murder and related weapons charges, police reported. The gun used in the incident was recovered from the scene.

According to the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, Claren allegedly made threats against Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh and Judge Mary Spicer while incarcerated for a separate crime he was convicted of in 2001.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Wayne County Coroner's Office were notified and asked to investigate the incident.
