Somebody's been sleeping in my bed!

A well known fable turned into a freaky reality for a West Salem resident. However, it wasn't sweet, little Goldilocks in a bed. Instead, police said a drunken stranger took a long nap in an unfamiliar home.

Chad Weber was keeping an eye on a West Britton Road home for friends who were away.

Around 7:45 Wednesday morning, he found a window and the front door busted open. Glass was scattered on the front porch.

Weber made his way upstairs and was stunned to see a complete stranger asleep in a bed.

"When I got to the top of the steps, she was laying in the bed sleeping. She had one of their coats on, covers pulled and the electric blanket turned on, just as comfortable as can be," Weber said. "All I could see was long, black hair and body laying there breathing."

Weber went back outside and called 911.

By the time police arrived, the woman was awake and in the process of leaving. West Salem officers arrested her at the scene.

According to Captain Doug Hunter of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, the woman--21-year-old Emily Dunn--said she was out drinking with her boyfriend in Medina hours earlier.

Dunn explained she got out of the car and started walking after she became concerned that the man was too drunk to drive.

Since her phone was not charged, she knocked on the door of the home on West Britton Road to see if someone would let her use a phone, according to deputies.

When no one answered her knock, she picked up the porch swing and crashed it through a glass window and door, shattering both of them, according to Hunter.

Investigators said Dunn then put on two coats, belonging to the owners, and crawled into bed.

"It has some Goldilocks connections, but there's nothing cute about it," Hunter said.

That's where she slept until Weber arrived to check on the home.

Dunn was arrested for burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

She's been released from jail while charges are pending.
