MASSILLON, Ohio - A missing 14-year-old Massillon girl was found safe in Ashland County, the sheriff's office said.
Emma Newland disappeared near her home in Jackson Township at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday. She was spotted in Dalton in Wayne County Thursday morning.
The Ashland County Sheriff's Office said a truck driver picked up Emma on Route 30 in Wayne County at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver said he didn't realize that she was a runaway.
The sheriff's office said the truck driver got a call from a relative who told him Emma was reported missing. That's when he called deputies.
No charges will be filed against the truck driver. Deputies said he was just being a good Samaritan.
An Amber Alert was not issued for Emma.
