Drug sweep takes 31 suspected drug traffickers off the streets in Wayne County

WOOSTER, Ohio - It was a busy Thursday night for the Medway Drug Enforcement Agency in Wooster. They went out and executed warrants for 59 people associated with drug trafficking in the area.

By the end of the night, they would round up 31 people. Amazingly, the majority of the people they were after are from out of state.

“We have a large presence of Detroit, Michigan people that are trafficking drugs in the city of Wooster. Some of them have stretched over to Stark County, Canton and Massillon area,” said senior agent Donald Hall.

In all about 90 officers participated in the drug sweep.

Hall said the people they were after were trafficking in heroin, oxycontin, and cocaine. There were no reports of anyone being hostile with officers the majority of people taken in surrendered without incident.
