Deputies: Deer sent for testing after found in Wayne County roadway oblivious to cars, people

WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio - A deer strolled through a Wayne County road with seemingly no regard for traffic, sheriff's deputies said.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department posted video on their Facebook page of a 12-point buck on Overton Road. They said the deer was oblivious to its surroundings, unafraid of cars or people.

The deer was salivating profusely and had a large growth on its neck, deputies reported. They were unable to get the deer to go back into the woods and with the consultation of the Ohio Division of Wildlife decided to dispatch the animal.

ODNR was given the deer for testing.
