SALT CREEK TWP, Ohio - A 5-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Saturday after a pick-up truck crashed into an Amish buggy Saturday morning.
Ohio State Highway Troopers said Matthew Miller, 19 of Fredericksburg, crashed his GMC truck into the Amish Buggy around 11:10 a.m. on Harrison Road, east of Leaman Road. The impact of the wreck, forced the buggy off the right side of the road.
Trooper said Miller's truck then crossed the centerline, crashing into a car in the westbound lanes of County Road 2.
The 5-year-old boy, Isaih Yoder, was in the back seat of the buggy and was seriously injured. He was transported to Wooster Community Hospital and then flown to Akron Children's Hospital by Life Flight.
Miller, the driver of the car and a 9-year-old boy who was in the front seat of the buggy, were treated all for minor injuries at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the buggy was not hurt.
Troopers said speed and driver inattention were factors in the crash.
