A woman died after her SUV was struck Saturday at County Road 111 when she failed to yield to traffic on U.S. 42 after a stop sign in Congress Township, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

U.S. 42 was closed around 3 hours and 30 minutes following the collision.

Frances M. Longsdorf, 67, of Nova was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a second vehicle, a 55 year-old Lexington man, and his passenger were injured in the crash and transported to Lodi Hospital. Authorities stated the Lexington man had incapacitating injuries but his passenger was treated and released.

Longsdorf was headed east on County Road 111 and stopped at its intersection with U.S. 42 but failed to yield from the stop sign to traffic on U.S. 42, according to highway patrol.

The Lexington driver was traveling south in a Dodge Charger on U.S. 42 and struck Longsdorf's Chevrolet Equinox at about 12:05 p.m., authorities said. Longsdorf went off County Road 111 into a shallow ditch. The Charger spun around and eventually stopped in the middle of U.S. 42.

Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
