Wednesday tornado in Mineral City confirmed

MINERAL CITY, Ohio - The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has confirmed that a tornado hit Mineral City Wednesday.

They said they have a crew there now assessing the damage to determine how strong it was and the path it took.

The Mineral City Fire Department in Tuscarawas County is a total loss after the storms tore through on Wednesday.

High winds nearly leveled the building and severely damaged the department's trucks, fire officials said.

No one was injured.
