NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio - The Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Department responded to a reported suicide attempt Thursday in New Philadelphia around 1 p.m.
Karen Wallick called to warn police her husband, Randy Wallick, 47, was going to commit suicide in the parking lot of First Baptist Church.
Karen also warned police her husband may have shot and killed 49-year-old Carter Ames on Seibert Hill Road.
The sheriff's office responded to both locations within minutes of the call.
Randy Wallick was found in the parking lot with injuries to the head. He was life flighted to Akron General where he later expired.
Police say Wallick shot and killed Ames on Sebert Hill Road before driving to the church parking lot.
The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the incident.
