A person who died in a fire that broke out just before 5 a.m. at the Hawthorn Suites on Montrose West Avenue on Saturday has been identified by the Summit County Medical Examiner.
The Summit County Medical Examiner identified the person as 41-year-old Heather Scott, of House Springs, Missouri.
Another person was seriously burned in the fire, officials said.
Crews rushed the injured victim to Akron General Hospital where the condition of the patient was unknown.
Fire crews from several departments assisted Copley fire crews extinguish the blaze.
Fire, police and state fire Marshal officials are investigating the cause.
Officials have not released details on the estimated damages.
