Twinsburg police detectives have launched an investigation after an unknown person uploaded multiple nude photos of high school aged females onto the micro-blogging site Tumblr.
According to police, on Jan. 27 an officer received information about a webpage that contained photos of the teen girls.
After verifying the webpage existed, authorities contacted Tumblr and the page was immediately removed by their staff.
A warrant to Tumblr was issued on Jan. 29 to “preserve information about the blog page and related account that is under investigation and to provide that information to detectives in a reasonable amount of time.”
A suspect has not been named at this time.
“Once we receive the requested information from Tumblr, detectives will examine the evidence and begin the process of contacting parents to arrange for interviews of those teens we believe are involved,” Twinsburg Chief of Police Chris Noga said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact them at 330-425-1234.
