A turkey shattered a window in a Northfield Center Township house Thursday, entered and ran loose throughout the residence.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, the break-in happened at around 6 p.m. Deputies arrived at the scene a short time later.

Mildred Kincade, the homeowner, told NewsChannel 5 she's lived in Northfield Center for more than 50 years and she's never seen a wild turkey, let alone had one in her living room.

"I was just frozen there," Kincade said.

She said she had no idea what to do and she couldn't get it to leave.

"What can you do? It's not like there was any reason for it to come in the window," she said.

Kincade called the Summit County Sheriff's office.

"They came out with a huge net," Kincade said.

The Summit County Sheriff's office removed the birds. Deputies said it didn't appear to be injured, and flew away immediately.

Summit County Inspector William Holland told NewsChannel 5, this isn't the first naughty turkey they've dealt with.

"Earlier in the year, back in January, kids got off a school bus and a wild turkey chased them around the neighborhood. A deputy came out an got it," Holland said.
