The start of spring brings snow and traffic troubles to Summit County

AKRON, Ohio - A blast of spring snow caught many in the Akron area off guard.

Traffic was at a standstill for more than a hour on the Kenmore Leg of route 76 west bound. Snowy, icy roads and accidents had traffic backed up for miles.

"Very unexpected, hard to get around.", said Sally Leksan of Wadsworth. "The snow removal and the snow plows didn't have enough time to get salt down unfortunately, for our drive into Barberton."

Alessandra Gerber said she is ready to go swimming. However, her grandpa made this winter memorable by teaching her how to ice skate.

"I did that. He had to drag me on a chair all the way across the ice. Like drag, drag, drag, like a pony ride."
