NORTON, Ohio - An employee working inside the Acme grocery store in Norton found a suspicious item on a shelf just after midnight Tuesday.
An Acme employee, who did not want to be identified, told NewsChannel5 they found the taped-up item while stocking shelves. The employee said it was not something that is sold at the store.
The store was closed at the time, and the seven workers there evacuated.
Norton police called in the Summit County bomb squad, who sent a robot in to check things out. Officers eventually went in and retrieved the item after 2 a.m., which wound up to be an empty, taped up tube.
