Summit Metro Parks rolls out PETiquette video, reminding dog owners ‘Bag the Doo-Doo'

AKRON, Ohio - As the weather warms up and the skies clear, there may be nothing nicer than getting outdoors.

But the pleasure of enjoying northeast Ohio’s great natural resources tends to disappear the moment you step into a pile of poo left behind by an inconsiderate dog owner.

That’s why Summit Metro Parks is urging proper “PETiquette ”—or, pet etiquette—in its parks.

In a video that rolled out Tuesday, an animated dog named Bark reminds dog owners to use a leash that’s no longer than eight feet long, to keep to the right side of trails and to always “Bag the Doo-Doo”.

Pets are never allowed at the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm. During swim season, they're prohibited at Munroe Falls Metro Park and the beach at Silver Creek.

Soon, everyone will have a new Summit Metro Parks nature center to visit in Twinsburg.

Wednesday morning they broke ground at Liberty Park for a 3900 sq. ft. building, picnic shelter, small amphitheater and two new trails.
