STOW, Ohio - The Stow Police Department in Summit County is warning the public about an alleged attempted abduction of a child that happened on Friday.
Police said on Friday at the Silver Springs Camp Site, located at 5230 Young Road, the parents of a six year old male child reported that their son returned to the campsite in a high state of agitation and told them that he was approached by a white male subject who told him that he was going to take the child to his truck so he could take him home. The subject picked up the child whereupon the child bit the subject and was able to break free and flee.
The child had followed an older cousin to the Summer Sunset Blast to watch a movie. The cousin stated that the child later said that he was not supposed to leave the campsite and he left to tell his parents where he was. The parents had been looking for the child when he ran up to his father screaming.
The child was unable to tell officers of the exact location at which the attempted abduction occurred.
The child stated that there were two suspects involved:
-Suspect 1 was described as a while male, 5' 10" to 6' tall, thin build, approximately 50 years old clean shaven wearing glasses.
-Subject 2 was described as a white male, approximately 5'7" tall, with brown hair and wearing a t-shirt.
