Stow native and Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Csonka honored by his high school alma mater

STOW, Ohio - Pro Football Hall of Famer and Stow native Larry Csonka was honored Monday by Allstate and the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a plaque at Csonka's alma mater, Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

Csonka was the number 1 draft pick in 1968 and went to play fullback for the Miami Dolphins where he helped lead the team to 3 straight Super Bowl championships in 1971, 1972 and 1973.

He was selected as the Most Valuable Player in Super Bowl VIII after carrying the pigskin 33 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns during the game. The Dolphins retired his jersey number, 39.

Csonka ended his career with the New York Giants.

Ron Marhofer, Csonka's high school teammate presented him with the plaque Monday which will remain on permanent display at Stow-Munrow Falls High School.
