Springfield Twp. police: $35,000 worth in bronze vases stolen from Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio - Springfield Township Police say someone is stealing bronze vases from Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.

According to Springfield Township Police Sgt. Eric East, officers are searching for a second suspect accused of stealing more than 180 bronze vases from the cemetery.

Akron Police arrested Gregory Wade for receiving stolen property and have issued warrants for Daniel Parr.

This, after Akron police noticed an uptick in bronze sales to pawn shops. Police investigated and discovered the thefts appeared to be from Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Springfield Township.

Stolen vases are estimated to be worth $35,000.

The pawn shops who purchased the bronze face possible charges for receiving stolen property.

The investigation is ongoing and there has been no charges filed by Springfield Township Police at this time.
