A smash and grab crook got away with several Apple iPhones after breaking into a Stow store Monday morning.

According to Sgt. Dan Drummond, the thief used a tool to break open a front door at Cellular Currency on Graham Road around 7:45 a.m.

Several iPhone 7 and 6 devices were taken.

Surveillance video shows the man appears to be white and he wore a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.

A witness at the shopping center reported the suspect may have driven away in a silver minivan with damage on the driver's side.

Sgt. Drummond said the suspect was in and out of the store quickly.

"From seeing the video, I would estimate it was less than five minutes," Drummond said. "It's obvious he knew what he was doing, so I'm sure he has done it before."

The cost for in iPhone 7 can range from $650 to nearly $1,300.

Security expert Tim Dimoff said the new iPhones are in demand on the black market, which could be the reason behind the Stow smash and grab.

"Obviously, they're a very popular item, so something that probably can be sold quickly," Drummond added.

Anyone with information on the break-in is asked to call Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
