Robert Pitts Jr. accused of killing two Akron men arrested in Chicago

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron man wanted in the stabbing deaths of a father and son was arrested in Chicago Thursday night.

Robert Pitts Jr. was wanted on two counts of aggravated murder after Bryan K. May, 53, and Jeremy A Putra, 20, were found dead on South Rose Boulevard.

The bodies were discovered when Akron officers were called to the apartment just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday for a wellness check. The Summit County Medical Examiner's office said both men died from stab wounds.

Pitts was arrested without incident at about 9 p.m. and booked into the Cook County Jail, where he was await extradition.

A 2006 Jeep Liberty belonging to one of the victims was recovered in Ashtabula.
