The Summit County Sheriff's Office is looking for two people who were caught on surveillance video stealing a woman's purse at a church last week.

Deputies were called Dec. 8 to the Queen of Heaven Church in Green after a man and a woman stole a purse belonging to a 79-year-old woman as she stood in line for communion, according to a news release. The woman left her purse unattended during the incident.

The incident was caught on surveillance.

Descriptions of the man and woman were vague. They were seen driving away from the church in a black vehicle appearing to be a late model Kia Optima.

The pair used the woman's credit card to make more than $1,000 in purchases at a local Acme and Dollar General.

Police found a cell phone belonging to the older woman a short time later.

Anyone with information should contact the Summit County Sheriff’s Office at (330) 643 8637.
