AKRON, Ohio - Two men were shot and a passerby's vehicle was struck by bullets during a shooting at a Circle K gas station in Akron. It happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday at 924 East Exchange Street.
According to police, the two men were shot outside of the gas station. One was struck in the leg, the other in the abdomen. Both victims were taken to the hospital, and their conditions are not known.
Police said that Larry Givens II, 20, of Akron, was trying to sell marijuana to Andrew Stafford, 26, also of Akron, who was there with his cousin, Troy L. Craig, 27, visiting from Atlanta. An argument ensued, and Givens and Craig fired shots.
Givens was shot in the leg and went inside the Circle K to call police. The other two men fled, but Craig had been shot in the abdomen and someone called 9-1-1 for him.
Police said a car driven by a 68-year-old man was struck by a stray bullet.
All three men were charged: Stafford with aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence, having weapons while under disability and complicity to commit felonious assault; Craig with aggravated robbery, felonious assault and having weapons under disability and Givens with trafficking in drugs.
