One person is dead and another was seriously burned after a fire broke out just before 5 a.m. at the Hawthorn Suites on Montrose West Avenue in Copley Township Saturday.
Crews rushed the injured victim to Akron General Hospital where the condition of the patient is unknown. No other injuries were reported.
Fire crews from several departments assisted Copley fire crews extinguish the blaze.
Fire, police and state fire Marshal officials will investigate the cause.
Officials have not released details on the estimated damages.
