Ohio Girl Scouts group to keep 1 of camps for sale

MACEDONIA, Ohio - The board governing Girl Scouts in northeast Ohio has voted to keep one of five camps that had been slated to be sold.

The board voted this week to retain Camp Sugarbush in Trumbull County. The camp is among seven in the northeast Ohio area.

The board also voted to move forward with the sale of camps in Carroll, Lake, Seneca and Summit counties.

The board had said in March it was going to sell five camps. Sugarbush was the only one salvaged after opponents argued the camps are needed to serve the needs of the 40,000 scouts in the region.

The other two camps being retained by the Girl Scouts are in Huron and Summit counties.
