Man charged in murder of Tallmadge woman and her 5-year-old son appears in court

Judge sets bond at $1 million

TALLMADGE, Ohio - A judge has set bond at $1 million Friday for the suspect in the murder of Tallmadge woman Wendy Ralston and her 5-year-old son, Peyton.

Tallmadge police said 39-year-old Daniel T. Tighe, of Akron, was arrested at about 1 p.m. on Thursday. He was taken into custody without incident on Breiding Road. Police said he had been living in a camper behind a house there since the bodies were found.

A judge arraigned Tighe by video 11 a.m. Friday. He was taken to the Summit County Jail Thursday.

The remains of Wendy Ralston, 31, and Peyton were found in a wooded area near their home on Stone Creek on Aug. 10. They were reported missing on Aug. 7.

Tighe, who was Ralston's live-in boyfriend, was charged with aggravated murder for Peyton's death and murder for Wendy's death. He was also charged with felony domestic violence.
