TWINSBURG, Ohio - An apparent Grinch has been pulling the plug on holiday light displays in at least two northeast Ohio communities.
"We flicked the lights out and we were all excited about the children looking at the lights. And then we happened to look out and notice one of our bushes was not lit," said Lisa Stewart, of Twinsburg.
Twinsburg is one of at least two communities where vandals cut the wire on outside Christmas lights. Police in Sagamore Hills are investigating similar reports.
"We don't know who it could be, but it's got to be somebody that just really doesn't appreciate Christmas, Christmas lights and the Christmas spirit," Twinsburg Police Sgt. Raymond Bobick said.
Police in Sagamore Hills are advising neighbors to keep an eye out for each other. In addition to snipping lights, the vandals are also stealing inflated Christmas lawn decorations in Sagamore Hills.
As for the Stewart family, they've fixed the broken lights and their Christmas display, as well as their holiday spirit is still burning brightly.
"We still have Christmas cheer," Lisa Stewart said. "Jesus is still the reason for the season. So we're still happy and keeping on."
