Cuyahoga Falls sting operation nabs 17-year-old Police Explorer using badge to buy alcohol

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - Cuyahoga Falls police have arrested a member of its Police Explorers program.

Our news partners at The Akron Beacon Journal report authorities were conducting an underage purchase of alcohol sting at several locations in the city. That's when police were told by a clerk at the Circle K on East Bath Road that a 17-year-old member of its Police Explorers program flashed his Explorers badge when the clerk asked for his ID when buying alcohol.

The 17-year-old has been charged with impersonating a police officer and underage purchase of alcohol, according to the paper.
