Police in three Northeast Ohio cities are trying to identify a group of crooks stealing a large amount of clothing from Burlington Coat Factory stores.

Detectives released surveillance video and pictures of the suspects on Monday to newsnet5.com.

The most recent shoplifting incident happened Feb. 15 at the Macedonia store. An estimated $500 to $800 worth of clothing was stolen by two men while cashiers were helping other customers, according to a police report.

Similar crimes took place last December at Burlington stores in Middleburg Heights and North Olmsted.

One of the males has a bleached "Afro" and the other wore glasses with a "white skunk line" on the side of his head, according to detectives.

Police believe at least one woman is also involved in the thefts and the group may be using a 1999 silver Volkswagen Jetta as a getaway vehicle.

Macedonia Sgt. Ken Turley said jewelry has also been stolen and it's possible the stolen items are being sold on the streets or online.

"These thefts are starting to total up and they're hitting multiple stores now, multiple jurisdictions. We would like to get them stopped," Turley said.

Anyone who has information on the suspects is asked to call Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
