Charges filed in Stow meth lab explosion, one suspect remains hospitalized

STOW, Ohio - Two men have been charged in a methamphetamine lab explosion that left them both injured.

Stow police and firefighters were called to a duplex on Mac Drive on April 17 for an explosion. The blast broke out windows in the unit, but the residents on the other side of the duplex were not home.

Brandon C. Davis and Stephen J. Scott were taken to Akron Children's Hospital for treatment to burns on their hands and feet. Scott remains hospitalized.

On Tuesday, the two men were charged with illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal drug chemicals and aggravated arson, Stow police said. More charges could be pending.

Police are the scene said the explosion was likely caused by a meth lab. The Summit County Drug Unit removed materials from the house for testing.
