The Akron Zoo is asking the public to help name three snow leopard cubs and began taking submissions Monday.

Its new additions were born March 5 and are on the endangered species list. Akron Children's Hospital is sponsoring the naming contest, which will run April 25 to May 16, the zoo stated. It ends before the cubs expected public debut in early June.

The seven-week old cubs include one female and two males who weigh about seven pounds. They've begun playing and climbing, the zoo said.

People can submit suggested names by emailing cubs@akronzoo.org.

Once names are in, the zoo will narrow them down to six possibilities. It said the cubs and their mother, Shanti, will help pick the winners.

People who submit the winning names will get free zoo admission and a snow lepard prize pack, the zoo said.
