AKRON, Ohio - A man on a motorized wheelchair was killed Sunday when he was hit by a train crossing railroad tracks on East South Street just before 7 a.m.
Akron police say the rail gates were down, but the man went around them as the train was heading toward him.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Akron police and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s office are looking into the death.
