A southwest Akron home was hit by thieves twice in just a matter of days, with precious rings among the loot.
Harry Rouch said someone smashed in his basement window on Friday, climbed in and stole his wedding band, along with eight engraved rings for bowling perfect games.
"They're memories, they can't be replaced," Rouch said. "They're special to me. They have my name written on them, the date the accomplishment was done. They wouldn't have a meaning for anybody else."
Except for the belief they could result in some quick cash -- and what may be the real reason thieves went in the first time.
On Monday, Rouch came home from work to find his TV and two laptops gone -- and the plywood he had put in to cover the broken basement window kicked in.
Rouch said he isn't sure why his Clearview Avenue home was hit twice. He's lived there for 15 years and it certainly doesn't seem like the logical target -- sitting on a busy street, surrounded by neighbors who are always home, and his German Shepherd Rambo keeping watch inside.
Police do not have any suspects at this point.
