AKRON, Ohio - A fugitive wanted for a hit and run that injured a construction worker on I-77 has been arrested.
According to a news release, Tamika Perkins was taken into custody Friday morning without incident after law enforcement officers found her behind the furnace in her Hollinger Street home.
On September 9, police say Perkins drove her SUV into a construction zone on I-77 NB near Vernon Odom Boulevard, hitting a worker and then fleeing.
She was wanted on charges of felony hit skip, driving with a suspended license, driving on a closed road and failure to control her vehicle.
Perkins is in the Summit County Jail.
