20-year-old arrested after SWAT situation in Springfield on Lyndon Drive

SPRNGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 20-year-old man was arrested after threatening to shoot police and himself.

Springfield Township police in Summit County were called to a home on Lyndon Drive for a domestic situation. Once officers arrived, they were informed by family members that Nicholas Gisentaner, 20, was inside of the home and possibly armed with a handgun.

According to police, Gisentaner walked in and out of the home yelling at officers and then threatened to shoot police and himself if anyone entered. He then barricaded himself inside the residence. Metro SWAT team was called to the scene; Summit County Sheriff's deputies also assisted.

Around 1:30 a.m. Friday, SWAT officers entered the home and located the suspect in the basement.  He was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail. No one was injured in this standoff.

Gisentaner is being charged with inducing panic.

Don Boley who lives across the street from where the incident happened told NewsChannel5 that he and his wife were about to head to bed when they heard officers yelling over a megaphone for someone to come out of the house with their hands up.

Boley later observed a SWAT member running across his front yard.  He said domestic issues at this home have happened before.
