AKRON, Ohio - The 18-year-old suspect accused of brutally murdering a New Franklin couple has pleaded not guilty in court.
Bond was continued at $2 million for Shawn Ford and he's set to appear again in court on April 24.
According to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office, Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert died of "blunt impacts to the head."
Construction workers found the Schoberts dead in their Rex Lake Drive bedroom on April 2.
The couple's daughter, Chelsea, was beaten and stabbed on March 23 inside an Akron home on Andrus Street, according to a police report. The teen, a senior at Archbishop Hoban High School, suffered a fractured skull and is still being treated at Akron Children's Hospital.
The man arrested and charged in that incident, Jamayne Ruiz, 24, was taken into custody and remains in the Summit County Jail, detectives said. Ford was also named as a witness to that crime.
Jeffrey Schobert was a prominent Akron-area attorney. He and his wife were highly respected in the community for all of their volunteerism.
