Two people were found dead inside a Perry Township home Thursday morning.

According to police, the bodies had been there a while before they were found.

Authorities were called around 10 a.m. to the home on Mt Marie Ave NW for a welfare check.

Neighbor Mitch Karam told News 5 the bodies belong to two brothers.

He said that he noticed that the mail had been piling up and the snow was never shoveled.

Karam went over to the house Thursday morning and knocked on the door but got no response.

That's when he called police, realizing he hadn't seen the men since November.

When asked why he waited so long to check on them, Karam said: "They gave me so much hell when I went over there to tell them I'm gonna help them rake their leaves. He told me 'get the hell out of my yard.'"

Relative Lisa Armstrong told News 5 she wishes she had checked on her cousins sooner.

"I guess we all get wrapped up in our own little families, we forget about other family members," she said. "We shouldn't. We should check on them more often and it makes me feel bad I had too much going on with my own family at the time."

Officials are not identifying the remains at this time but the Stark County coroner confirmed that the men were brothers and said it appeared the bodies had been there since November or December.

A dead cat was also found in the home.

Police say the preliminary investigation did not reveal foul play as a factor in the deaths.
